Hello. We Are Nica Bikes.

Nicaragua is the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and for 10 years the NicaWorks team has been working in some of its most impoverished regions.

A few years ago we began searching for a way to create employment opportunities for orphaned teens and at-risk young Nicaraguans.  The result was a bicycle shop at the Casa Bernabe Orphanage in Veracruz, Nicaragua.

So far, we have collected and shipped more than 7,000 donated bikes!  Young Nicaraguans are trained in repairing and selling the bikes, as well as the fundamentals of running a small business. The bike shop profits have also helped fund the orphanage and a thriving church in the community. Check out this one-minute video about the Casa Bernabe Orphanage Bike Shop.

In June of 2014, we opened a second bike shop in the capitol city of Managua and the demand for used bikes continues to grow.  Making a donation is easy!  Here’s how:

Step 1: Collect the Bikes

Any Size. Any Condition.

Step 2: Ship the Bikes

We ship the bikes to Nicaragua where orphaned and at-risk youth have been trained to repair the bikes.

Step 3: Sell the Bikes

The bikes are primarily sold in the two bike shops.  Wholesale batches are also distributed to several impoverished areas of Nicaragua.

Step 4: Break the Cycle of Poverty

The bike shops are providing employment, business role models and excellent bikes for the people of Nicaragua. We need your help. Get Involved.

We Need Your Bikes. We Take All Bikes Any Condition.

Host a Bike Collection

At your church. At your school. In your neighborhood.
